Dell Adamo rumored to boast DisplayPort, Blu-ray drive

Can you feel it? Dell’s Adamo is just about here, and the anticipation is palpable. We already learned that the unit’s 45-watt power adapter wouldn’t be anything special, but a Google cache shot of accessories and such from Dell’s own website is giving us a presumed look at what could be announced alongside the ultraportable. For starters, we get the impression that it’ll boast DisplayPort (judging by the DisplayPort-to-HDMI / VGA / etc. adapters) and at least have an option for a 2x Blu-ray combo drive. We’re also seeing 250GB / 500GB internal / external SATA drives and an auto / air adapter for powering the machine in your vehicle / personally owned 747. Only the suits in Round Rock know if these will actually come to fruition, but honestly, why bother hosting these up on your website if they weren’t on the way?

Lenovo W700ds struts its stuff on film

We’ll freely admit that Lenovo’s ThinkPad W700ds is, shall we say… intriguing. So sure, we’re a little envious that GottaBeMobile’s gotten their hands on one, but they’ve kindly shared what they know with the rest of the world. The model they’ve got boasts a 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme CPU, 4 GB of RAM, and NVIDIA Quadro FX3700M graphics. As for those displays, the primary is a 17-inch WUXGA with a 1920 x 1200, and the secondary panel is a 10.6-inch WXGA with a 768 x 1200 resolution. It all looks mighty interesting to us, but you’re going to want to check the video after the break to see for yourself.

Reinbot: Rudolph The Red-Nosed Minifig [Lego]

What if Rudolph were reimagined as an evil, metallic minifig?

This picture is what.

If we had one complaint, it’d be that Rudolph’s tumorous nose is not filled with a startlingly bright red LED. Because if it were, when minifig Prancer decided to be a jerk during reindeer games, minifig Rudolph could blind him with crimson before slicing his Achilles tendon. Looks like there’s spot open in reindeer four square after all, Prancer. [Flickr via technabob]

$99 Refurbished iPhones Now Available From AT&T [Dealzmodo]

While it seems Walmart will no longer sell $99 iPhones to the masses, AT&T is now offering some $99 iPhones of their own—except these ones are refurbished.

Over at AT&T’s online store, you can find the black, 8GB iPhone for $99, or the 16GB iPhone for $199 in white or black. A two year contract is still required, but it still comes with a 90-day warranty, and…like…it’s $100 less. [AT&T, Thanks Matthew!]

Nintendo Wii to Have Video On Demand [Nintendo]

Nintendo will start offering video in their Wii console soon. We can only hope that this announcement means that some kind of massive storage accessory is coming. However, there’s no much info so far:

Nintendo and Dentsu shall use the environment surrounding the Wii so that living rooms with Wii-ready TVs would become more of a fun area for communication among families and friends.

The two companies will develop original programming for the Wii, which will be available through the Internet both for free and for a fee. They also expect to expand their offering to other countries after the Japan introduction. [Japan Today]

NASA Offering Reward For Finding its 90 Lost Rubber Duckies [Science]

If you happen to spot a rubber duckie floating in the ocean, NASA would really appreciate it if you give them a call. They’re missing about 90 of them and want them back.

The rubber duckies were tossed into a hole in Greenland’s ice three months ago as a way to track how the polar icecap is melting. So far, however, they haven’t seen signs of any of them. So now they’re hoping that sailors, fisherman and cruise passengers will keep their eyes peeled for them. For the first one that’s recovered, NASA is offering up a measly $100 reward. But hey, that’s $100 more than you had before, you crusty old arctic fisherman. And it’s for science. [Guardian via Treehugger]

Bird Pendant Decorates Exposed Bulbs the Easiest Way [Lighting]

Hanging a real light fixture can be hard. But snapping a metal bird to a lightbulb? Easy.

The $50 Bird Pendant Light by Sweden-based artist Hung Ming Chen is a simple brass fixture that squeezes onto a bare bulb. And while we’re guessing it might get a little hot, there’s certainly no easier way to half-assedly decorate your basement. Now just to gather the motivation to actually replace that burned out lightbulb first. [UrbanOutfitters via Nerd Approved]
