Look National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, we understand this is your first walking, bi-pedal robot — but why the peel-away face? Just slap in some big manga eyes and button-mouth and we might be able to sleep at night. But no, you show up at the Taipei International Invention Show with this creepoid, capable of singing via synthesizer and walking 2-meters in a straight line — presumably in preparation to celebrate our demise.

ASUS takes Eee PC 901 for an HSUPA data ride

If you like the Eee PC 901 then you’re going to love this. ASUS just announced an integrated HSUPA option for its 8.9-inch netbook. When coupled with that 7.5-hour (rated) 6-cell battery you’ll have ample time to try and locate a carrier “in many destinations around the world” capable of delivering 7.2Mbps down and 2Mbps up — ASUS doesn’t say but we’re sure it’ll step down to older WWAN coverage as required. Available in October (just missing the September launch rumor) for an undisclosed price on undisclosed frequencies.

[Thanks, Michael A,]

Supposed MacBook Pro redesign, meet Mr. BlurryiPhonecam

Look, there are a hundred reasons to think this might be fake. That janky right corner, the inexplicable “dock in the trackpad” conundrum, the odd lighting and the entirely-too-convenient iSight self portrait. Still, whoever made this has their finger on the pulse of the Apple faithful — or pretty much anyone else that thinks Apple is long overdue for a MacBook Pro refresh. We’ve got Air-inspired curves, a touchscreen trackpad, aluminum and glass in the style of Apple’s latest iMacs, and what appear to be separated keys, which have been slow in coming to the MacBook Pro holdout. Naturally there’s zero info on who the source is, and we’re expecting a “hah, I totally fooled you guys” to spring up at any moment, but there’s clearly some pent up demand for this thing if the rumor mill is any indication.

The Bricked Mac Timelapse Video [Lego Mac Pro]

RP Cuento sent us this time-lapse video showing how he built his 2,558-piece Lego Mac Pro, which he dubs Bricked Mac. He also told us a few more facts about this fantastic Lego computer, starting with a basic question: Does it overheat?

It doesnt really overheat too badly. If I’m running batch compressor stuff, I’ll just pop open the side, which is removable.

The box took 14 hours to build. It includes a Mac Mini with a 250GB hard drive hack, with the system drive being an ESATA drive. The Hackintosh running Mac OS X, the second computer inside the box, uses:

2.4GHz Intel Q6600 Quad Core
Gigabyte ep35-ds3l motheboard
BFG NVIDIA 8800gt with 512 Mbytes
2GB of 800MHz RAM
750 and 400GB harddrives

[Thanks RP Cuenco!]
