We already know that the Prada-esque LG CU920 Vu is one of AT&T’s two launch handsets in support of its MediaFLO-based mobile TV rollout, but what’s the other one the carrier mentions? Mobiledia has scored gorgeous shots of this not-so-gorgeous phone, the A827 “Access” from Samsung, and the combination of AT&T branding and a dedicated “TV” button next to the d-pad has us believing that it’ll be stepping up to the plate for that role. Unlike the Vu, the Access seems to be a lower-end handset on account of a 1.3 megapixel cam, unremarkable design, and smallish display, so we’re certainly hoping its price point reflects the specs accordingly. Good to see that AT&T wants to bring mobile TV to every price segment, we suppose.
[Thanks, Matt D.]

In this GT interview, players “get help on the frontline with the different ways to battle your enemy.” Video after the break. Click here for first picture in gallery. Here’s the bottom line:
The action seems simple but exciting, as there are plenty of pretty explosions and rocket trails flying around at any time. If you’re curious about how the game plays you can see for yourself as there’s a demo on the Xbox Live Marketplace and a multiplayer beta running on PC

We have brought you news about Tesla’s great electric supercar development previously, but it seems the group is making moves to cease operation. According to the Tesla’s Founders Blog, the company is silently dropping its key employees, one at a time.
The Tesla electric supercar, which rockets the driver from 0-60mph in 4.0 seconds, does not look like it will see the light of day as the team has already lost key players, including Tom Colson (VP Manufacturing), Tristan Colson (Software development engineer), Rudy Garragia (lead engineer on Tesla’s motor team; creator of Tesla’s motor), as well as pretty much everyone else in between. We are sorry to break the electric supercar and flying automobile dream all in one day, but it’s like that, and that’s the way it is. [Tesla Founders Blog via bookofjoe]

A prototype flying car, dubbed Sky Commuter Aircraft, has been listed for sale on eBay. The vehicle, which has an electric gas assisted lexan bubble canopy, electric controlled directional driving and landing lights, electric joystick, dual foot pedals for double pilot based controls and an advanced Carbonfiber and Kevlar front dash shell, marks the potential end to the oft visited, flying automobile dreams.
The concept racked up the expenses, to date it has had $6 million spent on bringing it to fruition; an expense which the developers, Boeing, are now viewing as a great waste. The project began in the 1980s, has had sixty investors and the production plant produced only three concept aircrafts before the facility was closed down for unknown reasons. The entire works, however, are all present in the one prototype that is now for sale, which escaped destruction as it was not based at the main plant when everything was systematically destroyed.
If you have a few million dollars lying spare, why not get yourself in on some vertical flight and landing action? Here is hoping the purchaser keeps the development going. After all, what do we have to look forward to in our meaningless lives if we cannot pin our hopes on living life like the Jetsons? [eBay via Boing Boing]

Spotted on the floor of CES by Kotaku, Fenda’s “On Play” 2.1 speaker system has speakers that resemble a Wii Nunchuk and a subwoofer that looks like the Wii itself. In addition to having a dock for the Wii to sit on, Kotaku’s Michael McWhertor says the speakers sound pretty good and will only cost around $50 when they come out later this year. [Kotaku]

While much of the internet may be up in arms over Richard Blakeley’s recent IR-induced video stunt, a 14-year-old boy from Poland allegedly took an IR hack to more tragic proportions this week, and has been accused of hacking a standard TV remote to override track switching at rail junctions in the city of Lodz. Four trams were derailed and (luckily) only 12 people were injured with none killed. The youth in question was described by teachers as an “electronics buff and exemplary student,” according to The Register.
The lesson? From here on out, Blakeley takes a cab. And he stays the fuck away from our train set. [theregister via boingboing] [image]
